A top quality, large Phareodus fish. The Phareodus encaustus is a Osteoglossidae fish from the Eocene age (50 MYA) fish, Green River Fm., Lincoln Co. Wyoming. The Phareodus was a carnivorous fish with large pointed teeth and a long pectoral fin. This piece is from the Split Fish Layer and shows fantastic detail. Excellent preservation and preparation. No repair. All natural. An excellent display piece!

A very rare, EXTRA LARGE, Top Quality Edestus heinrichi shark tooth, from Herrin, Illinois. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. An extra large crown and root section. Excellent preservation, serrations, and serration detail. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion or a vertical whipping motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. Shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These rare teeth are Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. A Top Quality Tyrannosaurus rex tooth from a small adult Rex. This Rex crown measures 2" (straight line) and is nicely exposed in its original Hell Creek Fm. matrix. The enamel is highest quality. Great rich dark chocolate brown color. Good anterior serrations (mostly covered) and exceptional serrations on the posterior side. There is a very small wear facet on the tip which is typical for a adult tooth from opposing teeth wear. Two cracks have been stalibized. No repair or restoration. A 100% natural tooth! Fantastic overall condition with incredible serrations for a large Rex tooth. A fantastic collector's tooth!  T-Rex was the apex during the late Cretaceous with massive teeth capable of crushing its prey. A rare, EXTRA LARGE, Top Quality Columian Mammoth tooth (Mammuthus columbi), an early elephant molar found in Somervell Co., Texas.  Mammoths were present in this area during the Late Pleistocene Ice Age. Fantastic natural tan color! An excellent molar with a nicely articulated chewing surface. The molar chewing surface is 8-1/2" in length. A large, complete root. Completely fossilized.
