A Rare, "Flying" Minicryphaeus giganteus trilobite. Another November Fossil of the Month. The specimen has been expertly prepared to make it completely free standing in a flying position. This is a BIG trilobite with a very unique design. Incredible shell and spine preservation and incredible size for this rare species! A well defined rostrum and excellent compound eyes. Note-  a rather new trilobite which was first described and named in 2014. An Early Devonian (410 mya) trilobite from the Jbel El Mrakib area, Atlas Mts., Morocco. An ultra rare, Top Quality upper jaw Hexanchus tooth - the Sixgill Cow shark, from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. This tooth has a rich blue & tan crown with a tan root. Two main cusps (complete). Incredible color and preservation. These are Miocene age, Pungo River Formation teeth. A near Perfect tooth. A fantastic collector's tooth. Authenticity guaranteed. A Quality Prognathodon anceps tooth from the phosphate mining region, Khouribga, Morocco. P. anceps is one of the largest mosasaur species known with huge nearly round teeth used for crushing prey.  Exceptional condition and preservation. An Ultra Rare, Extra Large Pappocetus lugardi (Andrews, 1920) molar tooth from Morocco. Note - molar tooth design is one of the distinguishing features for indentifying this species.The molars demonstrate how massive Pappocetus teeth compared to the later primitive whales!  The root thickness doubles on one side and the crown gains depth as well. This material is a new find and represents one of the earliest transition forms of the whale. Pappocetus is a protocetid (see discussion below) and a large amphibious aquatic carnivore. Pappocetus is also an ancestor of the Basilosaurus. This material is complete and without repair. Crack fill only on some pieces. This is an opportunity to own an incredibly rare specimen from an early evolutionary stage of the modern whale. A fantastic collector's specimen.
