This Megalodon has an excellent dark tan & light brown colored tooth with a vivid light tan & brown stripped bourlette. Highest quality enamel. A very rare Isurus praecursor dentition. There are 60 teeth total (26 uppers and 24 lowers). Teeth range from 1-9/16" to 1". All teeth are top quality or near top quality condition. A Top Quality, Carcharodon hastalis,  Mako shark tooth (upper anterior jaw tooth) from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2". This tooth has a rich tan & blue crown and a tan colored root. Excellent colors!  Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root.
