A GEM Quality, Colorful Tyrannosaur tooth from the late Cretaceous (Campanian) in northern North America. Please note that this tooth could Gorgosaurus or Daspletosaurus - see Detailed Discussion below. An October Fossil of the Month. This tooth measures 1-1/2" - an excellent Tyrannosaur  tooth. A very rare, Top Quality Tyrannosaurus rex  tooth with a wicked break away; a possible sign of T.rex fighting breakage. This tooth measures 2-1/4". The enamel has excellent color and patina. Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2". This tooth has a rich  blue & tan crown and a light brown colored root. Excellent colors!  Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. It is a Miocene tooth from the Pungo River Fm. An excellent collector's tooth. Authenticity guaranteed.
