A rare Carcharhinus plumbeus tooth, the Sandbar shark, from Sumatra, Indonesia. These teeth were deposited in the Telisa formation - a shallow marine environment during the middle Miocene (approx. 15 million years ago.) A very unique collector's tooth. A Top Quality, 5-5/16" Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth - upper jaw tooth. This Megalodon has an incredible tan colored crown with an excellent brown bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Exceptional color!  The serrations are razor sharp with an unique pathologic tip. Tip has a slight twist and serrations were not formed. Very strange. The root is an excellent tan color and extra wide (4-5/8") with typical hydration cracks and absolutely complete. This Megalodon was found in the Pungo River Formation, Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina (Miocene age = 14.5 MYA). An excellent BIG collector's tooth from the old days at Lee Creek mine! A Top Quality, Carcharodon hastalis,  Mako shark tooth (upper anterior jaw tooth) from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2". This tooth has a rich  blue crown and a tan colored root. Excellent colors!  Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. It is a Miocene tooth from the Pungo River Fm. An excellent collector's tooth. Authenticity guaranteed. A perfect "Pungo" hastalis tooth.
