An Ultra Rare, TOP QUALITY Parotodus benedeni, the False Mako, tooth from Pyramid Hill, Kern County, California. This tooth has a nice tan colored enamel and a very massive root. The crown enamel has good luster and sharp edges. High quality enamel. Note - the right root end was professionally repaired. It is difficult to see any repair. Note - This is an early Miocene (22 MYA) tooth from the Jewitt Sand Formation, An extremely difficult tooth to locate! Authenticity guaranteed. One of the rarest P. benedeni teeth.

Nicely articulated. Note - enamel tip shows a small wear pattern on crown. Whales do not shed their teeth like the sharks so there teeth will wear with age.
