A LARGE, Top Quality Chubutensis tooth - an upper jaw tooth from So. Carolina. Otodus chubutensis or Chubutensis is the extinct ancestor of the Megalodon shark. An excellent Charcoal Gray colored crown. High quality enamel. The black bourlette is complete. Sharp serrations are sharp with a slightly worn tip serration. The root is black colored and complete. Note the small cusp-like bumps at the base of the cutting edge and the grooves on the sides of the root ends - both are Chubutensis characteristics. No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed. An excellent Chubutensus tooth.

A TOP QUALITY, Lee Creek Carcharocles chubutensis, a C. megalodon predecessor, from Aurora, No. Carolina. A posterior tooth. This tooth was found in the Pungo River Formation (middle Miocene age). Note the crown exhibits large cusplike bumps at the base of the serrated edge and the root ends also show grooves where the teeth interlocked. These are characteristic traits of the Lee Creek early Meg - C. chubutensis. A gorgeous tan colored crown with an excellent brown bourlette. Great serrations. The root is brown with a small hydration crack. High quality enamel! Great color! No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed.

A TOP QUALITY, Lee Creek Otodus chubutensis, a O. megalodon predecessor, from Aurora, No. Carolina. This tooth was found in the Pungo River Formation (middle Miocene age). A Top Quality Megalodon tooth from Georgia. A MArch Fossil of the Month. The crown has excellent Blue color. The enamel is the Highest Quality with very small hydration cracks. An BLACK colored bourlette which is mostly complete. Razor sharp, extra large serrations including an excellent tip serration. The root is a charcoal color, nicely articulated, and complete. This tooth has extra large root end grooves and the base of the serrations has two unique pathologies (possible Chubutensis? (see close up photos) Traits of a Miocene age Megalodon tooth.
