A LARGE, Top Quality Edmontosaurus annectens caudal (tail) vertebra "chevron" from the late Cretaceous of North America. Edmontosaurus is a very large hadrosaur or "duck-bill" dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation. The chevron is the appendage that resides below the tail vertebra that provides structure to the base of the tail. Chevron bones rarely survive and this one is 95% complete - rare! Bone quality is excellent and heavy. No repair or restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Hell Creek Fm.,Harding Co., So. Dakota. A GORGEOUS, GEM copper red colored Chubutensis tooth - an upper jaw anterior tooth from the Meherrin River in northeastern No. Carolina. An Ultra Rare EXTRA LARGE, Top Quality Tyrannosaurus rex tooth. Another August 2018 Fossil of the Month. This Rex crown measures 4-1/2" (straightline) and is thick (1-9/16") - a massive Rex tooth. The enamel is very high quality and a rich dark brown color. Good posterior and anterior serrations with a small amount of natural tip wear. An extra wide base. This is a big and heavy tooth. Note - this tooth was cracked in a freeze cycle as evidenced by the cracks in the top half of the tooth. The preparator did a exceptional job prepping this tooth and it is rock solid now. A small area of the cutting edge was rebuilt about midway on both the anterior and posterior sides (see final photo). Excellent overall condition for a big Rex tooth. A TOP QUALITY Chubutensis tooth from Peru - an upper jaw tooth. Another February Fossil of the Month. An incredible tan and red colored crown with no peel. Highest quality enamel. A Top Quality Protolamna sokolovi, an extinct Mackerel shark, tooth from Tarrant Co., Texas. An excellent example of this Lower Cretaceous Paw Paw Fm. shark.
