An ultra rare GEM quality, Classic Peruvian Megalodon tooth. A September Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon has an excellent blue & brown colored crown. The bourlette is a dark brown and 100% complete. The root is a light brown and complete. Incredible color! Highest quality enamel. The bourlette is excellent and 100% complete. The serrations are extra large and 100% complete. Exceptional serrations! The root is nicely articulated, extra wide, and complete with few hydration cracks. An EXTRA LARGE, HIGH QUALITY Megalodon - upper jaw tooth from West Java, Indonesia. This Megalodon has an incredible light tan, brown & charcoal colored crown with a light tan & brown colored extra large bourlette. The reverse side some fantastic color - the "Calico Meg". Highest quality enamel. Great color! The serrations are razor sharp with an excellent tip serration. The my last July 2017 Fossil of the Month is a GEM 4-11/16" Megalodon - upper jaw ANTERIOR tooth. Fantastic colors - gray enamel and a jet black bourlette. Highest quality enamel - glass-like surface. The finest enamel preservation - very rare! An exceptional black bourlette - near complete. Razor sharp serrations including an exceptional tip serration. Serrations are just about perfect. The root is incredible - a medium brown, nicely articulated, and complete with very small hydration cracks on the display side. An ultra rare, 5-5/8" GEM, Deep Red North Carolina Carcharocles megalodon, an upper jaw Principal Anterior tooth from the Meherrin River copper-red site. This incredibly rare tooth is our February Fossil of the Month. NC001 has an incredible deep red colored crown. The finest color from the copper red site! The enamel is the highest quality. The serrations are essentially prefect with a needle-like tip serration. The root is perfect. Definitely a Miocene Meg with "root ears" and serration bumps at base. Note - you rarely see a copper-red Megalodon shark tooth that has a top quality crown, root and serrations - a top .1% tooth from this site! This is one of the finest big Megs from this site and I would say the finest deep red colored big Meg tooth from this site! NO repair! An ultra rare, 5-3/4" Top Quality Red Site Carcharocles megalodon from the Meherrin River, North Carolina. The "Jaguar" Megalodon tooth. A May Fossil of the Month. This Meg is a BIG upper jaw anterior tooth from the Meherrin River copper-red site. NC001 has an incredible black and copper-red colored crown. Fantastic color! The enamel is the highest quality. The serrations are extra large and essentially complete with a big tip serration. Incredible serrations for a BIG Megalodon tooth. Bourlette is extra large, dark brown and 98% complete.The root is complete with very small hydration cracks. Definitely a Miocene Meg with serration bumps at base and groove on the root end sides. Note - there is a small area of restoration with the enamel of the non-display side in the center just above the root.
