A LARGE RARE, Albertavenator curriei  (Troodon) tooth from the Horseshoe Canyon Fm. of Alberta, Canada. Troodontid teeth are known for their very unique shaped teeth with unusually large distal serrations. The enamel is excellent with an excellent brown color.  Excellent large posterior and anterior serrations. Please note that Albertavenator teeth typically have anterior (mesial) serrations. There is a small damage on the tip. No repair or restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Horseshoe Canyon Fm., Alberta, Canada. These Albertavenator teeth were collected pre-July 1978 and a Confirmation Certificate #001427 was granted (see photo). A Devonian sea floor slab with a Eldredgops (Phacops) rana milleri trilobite from the Silica Shale Formation of Ohio. The also three large pyrite replaced Paraspirifer bownockeri brachiopods, three Mucrospirifer mucronatus brachiopods, and other specimens. The Eldredgops has excellent detail on the compound eyes - very well preserved. The quality of the Silica Shale Fm. fossils are incredible. A rare sea floor specimen from the Middle Devonian (380 mya), Silica Shale Fm. from Lucas Co., Ohio. You don't see multi-species slabs for sale. A Museum Quality specimen. The surface quality is exceptional with no pitting, nicks or little wear! Great patina. Fully inflated. The articulated end is complete. One crack. No restoration. An ultra rare Mosasaur matrix piece with two Top Quality Mosasaurus (Prognathodon) anceps teeth with their original roots. Another May 2018 Fossil of the Month selection. Includes a massive 5-1/2" tooth and a 3" tooth in the original matrix. Both are fully rooted and perfect teeth which is very rare! This is not your typical Mosasaur crown glued to a root. This is an all original, associated specimen (beware of the fakes - discussion below). Exceptional condition and preservation.  No repair or restoration. Museum Quality. The only authentic Mosasaur specimen with two original rooted teeth that I have seen!  Note - the large Moroccan Mosasaurs are being renamed to a Prognathodon genus. Authenticity guaranteed.
