A rare Top Quality, BIG CLASSIC Chile Megalodon tooth from the phosphate layer, Bahia Inglesa Fm., Caldera area, Chile. This tooth is nicely displayed on its original phosphorite matrix. Note - the pebbly phosphorite makes an interesting base which elevates the tip about 15 degress for a great display. A gorgeous light tan colored crown with no enamel peel. High quality enamel with very light mineral staining (as shown). The bourlette is an excellent deep mahogany brown color, large and 85% complete. The serrations are razor sharp and complete with an excellent tip serration. The root is rich red-brown color, extra wide (5") with excellent surface articulation, and 100% complete. Fantastic color. Exceptional "eye appeal". Great symmetry. No repair or restoration. A Top Quality Palmoxylon sp. - Petrified Palm trunk section from Toledo Bend, Louisiana. This petrified palm is from the Catahoula Fm and is Oligocene age (30 MYA). One side is polished and the other side is natural. The interior is highly vascular with unqiue pores and channels that have been silicified into agate. Trunk slice thickness is 2.3/4" and makes a great display. This piece exhibits exceptional preservation and color. Authenticity guaranteed. Exceptional color! Note - you rarely see a copper-red Megalodon shark tooth that has a top quality crown, root and serrations - a top .1% tooth from this site! This is one of the finest big Megs from this site and I would say the finest deep red colored big Meg tooth from this site! This is also one of the earliest Megs coming from the copper-red site.
