An ultra rare, Top Quality EXTRA LARGE Edestus heinrichi shark whorl section with 3 big crowns, from Herrin, Illinois. An April Fossil of the Month. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. Excellent preservation and serrations. Note - extra long root whorl section with 3 extra large crowns - very rare. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. Shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These rare teeth are Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. Note - Two crown tips were professionally retored. Authenticity guaranteed. A rare, Eremiasaurus heterodontontus (Mosasaur) jaw section with three original teeth in the jaw. Plus a Prognathanodon tooth. Note -  the original teeth remaining in the jaw are quite rare. The jaw bone and teeth exhibit exceptional condition and preservation (very rare). This wonderful specimen is very mineralized. An incredible display piece and an incredible collector's piece.  No repair or restoration. Please note this is not one of those six tooth "reconstructed" (fake) Mosasaur jaw sections. This is the real deal!

Holmsella sp.; an  Extinct Primitive shark

A very rare shark skin specimen. This matrix piece is covered with dermal denticals. Shark skin impressions with denticals are extremely rare and a Paleozoic age find adds to the rarity. An exceptional collector's piece from an old collection!

An EXTRA LARGE, Top Quality Thescelosaurus neglectus caudal (tail) vertebra chevron from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. A March Fossil of the Month. Thescelosaurus is a mid-sized dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation. The chevron is the appendage that resides below the tail vertebra that provides structure to the base of the tail. Chevron bones rarely survive and this one is 99% complete - very rare! This bone quality is excellent with excellent color and patina. No repair or restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Hell Creek Fm., Powder River Co., Montana. An excellent collector's quality Thescelosaurus vertebra chevron. Authenticity guaranteed. Museum Quality. Two Top Quality Scyphocrinites elegans crinoids from Alnif, Morocco. The Scyphocrinites crinoid was a floating variety which was attached to a holdfast air bladder that supported multiple stems and calyx ("flower"). This crinoid has a bulbous calyx with incredible detail. These crinoids have good sized stem sections of 2-1/4" and 3-1/2". These crinoids make fantastic display pieces. Museum Quality specimen.
