Another December 2017 Fossil fo the Month.This Chubutensis has an incredible light tan and blue colored crown. The bourlette is great light tan color and complete. Highest quality enamel with a no hydration cracks. Exceptional color! The serrations are razor sharp and perfect with a needle-like tip serration. An EXTRA LARGE Top Quality, Carcharodon hastalis,  Mako shark tooth (upper jaw lateral tooth) from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2". This tooth has a rich  tan crown and a light tan colored root. Excellent colors!  Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. An incredibly sized, GEM Great White shark tooth from Chile. My final February 2018 Fossil of the Month.This ULTRA RARE, MONSTER sized Great White tooth measures 2-7/8" - a huge upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. Highest quality enamel! Excellent color. A LARGE, Top Quality Carcharodon hastalis, Broad-tooth Mako, shark tooth - upper jaw anterior tooth from the Bahia Iglesa Fm. of Chile. This tooth has a light blue crown and a tan root. Excellent color! Razor sharp cutting edge with three cutting edge waves at the base of the crown - a very unusual pathology. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. Perfect tooth.
