A rare, High Quality Alopias grandis shark tooth, the extinct Giant Thresher, from Milnerton Beach, Cape Town, South Africa. Nice blue color. Very good preservation and condition with a small root chip. A Late Mocene age tooth (Alexandria Fm). No repair or restoration. These teeth are not commonly found and seen. This species is much more rare than the Priscacara (Cockerellites) liops and exhibits larger size, larger fins, and teeth. An October Fossil of the Month. This piece is from the 18 Inch Layer which is extremely hard and difficult to prepare. It also provides the most detailed, highly preserved fossils. Exceptional preservation and preparation.
