A RARE, Top Quality Dromaeosaurus albertensis (raptor) tooth from the Judith River Fm. of Montana. An August Fossil of the Month. This tooth is 1/2" which is a typical size. The enamel is excellent with a great brown color. This species is known for large posterior serrations that will turn upwards. Excellent large posterior (distal) and small anterior (mesial) serrations. There is a natural wear facet on tip. No cracks. No repair. A Top Quality, Triceratops horridus brow horn from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. A February 2021 Fossil of the Month. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations. This is a special horn with exceptional detail preserved and exceptional color / patina. You can see all of the natural blood grooves around the surface of the horn. The preparation of the horn was fairly basic and simple - some cracks filled and a small area around the tip was restored. This is very minimal restoration for a horn. It comes with the welded steel stand as shown. A fantastic fossil overall. Legally collected on private land in the Lance Creek Fm., Lusk, Wyoming. A well preserved, rare Scyphocrinites elegans crinoid holdfast from Morocco. The crinoid stem attached to these floating holdfasts. The Scyphocrinites crinoids were floating crinoids and their holdfast was actually an air bladder that supported multiple stems and calyx. This holdfast is bulbous with a fantastic detail. A peg stand is included as in the photos. These crinoid holdfasts make excellent fantastic display pieces. An Ultra Rare, Extra Large Pappocetus lugardi (Andrews, 1920) incisor tooth from Morocco. This material is a new find and represents one of the earliest transition forms of the whale. Pappocetus is a protocetid (see discussion below) and a large amphibious aquatic carnivore. Pappocetus is also an ancestor of the Basilosaurus. This material is complete and without repair.
