A GEM quality Chubutensis tooth - an upper jaw anterior tooth from So. Carolina. Otodus chubutensis or Chubutensis is the extinct ancestor of the Megalodon shark. An August Fossil of the Month. An incredible blue & tan colored crown. Top quality enamel. The brown bourlette is large and complete. Sharp serrations are near complete (only 2 partially damaged) and an excellent tip serration. A rare, EXTRA LARGE Chubutensis tooth from Peru - upper jaw tooth. An excellent tan colored crown with no peel. Large side cusps. Extra sharp serrations are excellent with some damage. The bourlette is a light tan color and mostly complete. The root is excellent light tan color, nicely articulated, and complete with few hydration cracks.
