A rare, Top Quality Triceratops horridus epoccipital (frill ornament) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for three horns and a large frill protecting its neck. This epoccipital has excellent detail preserved and great color / patina. The epoccipitals were triangular bone ornaments that lined the top of the frill. The young Triceratops had narrow and tall epoccipitals, older juvenile Triceratops had low and wide epoccipitals, and adult Triceratops no longer had this ornament. You can see this epoccipital is narrow which are characteristics of a young Triceratops. A LARGE Top Quality, Carcharodon hastalis,  Mako shark tooth (upper anterior jaw tooth) from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2". This tooth has a rich  blue crown and a brown colored root. Excellent colors!  Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. A MASSIVE 6-5/16" Top Quality Megalodon tooth from Georgia - an upper jaw Principal Anterior tooth. A June Fossil of the Month. The crown has excellent Dark Gray & Blue color. A Top Quality Megalodon tooth from Georgia - an lower jaw anterior tooth. The crown has excellent unique tan color with a wisp of black. The enamel is the Highest Quality with small hydration cracks. A Top Quality, Triceratops horridus toe bone (metatarsal) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation which is known for three horns and the large frill protecting its neck. This is a great toe bone with exceptional detail preserved and good color / patina. This is the metatarsal IV bone. You can see the "mushroom" appearance of proximal ends which is a characteristic of Triceratops and distinguishes it from a Hadrosaur toe bone. Triceratops bones are more difficult to find.
