A very rare Edestus heinrichi  shark tooth, from Herrin, Illinois. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. Very good preservation with excellent serrations. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. A GEM Quality Aetomylaeus sp., an Eagle ray, mouth plate from Caldera area of Chile. An excellent plate of pavement teeth from the upper jaw. The specimen resides on its orinigal matrix. This plate has exceptional preservation, fantastic deep red colors, and exceptionally clean. Note - the bottom side of this specimen is mostly matrix covered with a large whale bone is exposed. An incredible late Miocene Eagle ray mouth plate from the Bahia Inglesa Fm.  Museum Quality. An excellent gray colored crown with a black colored bourlette, and a black colored root. Highest quality enamel. Excellent color & preservation. The serrations are large and razor sharp including the tip. One large side cusp. The root is complete and very well preserved.
