This ammonite species exhibits big ribs with multiple rows of tubercles (nodes). This specimen is sits in an original Pierre Shale nodule with a flat base for a great display. An excellent gray colored crown with a black colored bourlette, and a black colored root. Highest quality enamel. Excellent color & preservation. The serrations are large and razor sharp including the tip. One large side cusp. The root is complete and very well preserved. A very rare, Sphenodus tooth, from a very early shark. Absolutely great preservation - excellent condition with extra sharp cutting edges. These are Upper Jurassic age from Voskresensk, Russia. Note - there appears to be very minor repair (patch) on the rear of root (1/16" sliver area); left hand corner of the root of this tooth (rear side). Repair not visible front the display side. Bargain priced for a rare, killer Sphenodus tooth!
