A natural Hoploscaphites nodosus ammonite and a Nautilus (Eutrephoceras) with excellent preservation of the shell material. A December Fossil of the Month. This ammonite species exhibits big ribs with large tubercles (nodes). Both ammonites are nicely displayed on their original Pierre Shale matrix with a flat base. Matrix size is 4.5" x 2.5". An incredibly preserved, EXTRA LARGE Miocene Gomphotherium molar from Chatham Co., Georgia.  An extinct elephant ancestor that evolved in the Early Miocene and lived through the Pleistocene of North America.
