An ultra rare, LARGE Top Quality Edestus heinrichi shark whorl with 7 big crowns, from Herrin, Illinois. An October Fossil of the Month. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. Excellent preservation and serrations. This whorl is incredible teeth detail - the first 5 crowns are all natural and the the last two have some top repair. One of the finest whorls that I have had. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. Shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These rare teeth are Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. Note - Two crown tips were professionally retored. Authenticity guaranteed. An EXTRA LARGE, TOP QUALITY Spinosaurus aegyptiacus tooth from the Kem Kem region of Morocco. A rare  rooted tooth! A gorgeous Quenstedticeras lamberti ammonite from the Saratov region of Russia. Incredible pyrite replaced ammonite with a crystal lined interior. A rare, Top Quality Anzu wyliei caudal (tail) vertebra from the Hell Creek Fm. of Montana. Anzu is referred to as the "Chicken from Hell". An excellent vertebra. Excellent light brown color and patina. This specimen has excellent perservation. Note - the open cell structure of this theropod vertabra. Also note the large pneumatic fossa on the sides - an Anzu vertebra trait. There is a segment of tendon fossilized with this vertebra. A top quality, collector's vertebra from the Hell Creek of Montana. Note - 2014 Anzu wyliei description paper attached below. A Top Quality, rare Triceratops horridus epijugal (jugal spike) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for the large frill protecting its neck. Triceratops had a spike on its cheek which is called the jugal "spike" (see photo). This jugal spike has exceptional detail preserved and great color / patina. Excellent surface blood grooves are preserved. No repair or restoration. 100% natural specimen. Legally collected on private land in Bowman, No. Dakota. Authenticity guaranteed.
