A very rare, LARGE Megalodon tooth from New Caledonia. These Megalodon teeth are dredged from the New Caledonia area between Fiji and Australia. The deposit covers about 5 square miles and the water is about 1,000 feet deep. All dredging has stopped and tooth supply has stopped. This Megalodon tooth has an incredible light tan color. Excellent color. The enamel is worn with little damage. The serrations are worn. The root is complete. This tooth is Middle Miocene. No repair or restoration. Authenticity Guaranteed. A Top Quality, 4-1/2" Classic Peruvian Early Megalodon tooth. Our 2nd February 2017 Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon has an incredible tan colored crown with an excellent tan bourlette. Highest quality enamel. The bourlette is excellent and essentially complete. The serrations are extra large and razor sharp with an excellent tip serration. The root is an excellent reddish brown color and complete. This Megalodon was found in the Ocucate area of Peru (Miocene age). Note -  the "root ears"on the root, root wing grooves, the exceptionally large serrations, and Chubutensis-like humps at the base of the serrations - all Miocene traits.
