A TOP QUALITY, LARGE Stylemys nebrascensis, a fossil tortoise shell, from the White River Badlands, Brule Formation, South Dakota. Fantastic color and preservation. Note that Stylemys is thought to be a burrowing tortoise which helps maintain the 3-D in aspect of the shell when they are died in their burrow. Exceptional preparation with a little restoration done to the left side (front view) which is minor and common for the White River tortoise shells. One of the better White River tortoise shells and a great display piece. Authenticity guaranteed.

An EXTRA LARGE, TOP QUALITY, classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth (predecessor of Megalodon) - upper jaw ANTERIOR tooth. Another December 2017 Fossil fo the Month.This Chubutensis has an incredible light gray colored crown with fades to a golden tan. The bourlette is essentially complete and a great light brown color. Highest quality enamel with a no hydration cracks. Exceptional color! The serrations are razor sharp - near perfect with a needle-like tip serration. A Top Quality, Extra Large rare transition GW tooth, Carcharodon hubbelli. An upper jaw anterior tooth. Another December 2017 Fossil of the Month. The C. hubbelli serrations are full at the base of the cutting edge, transition to fine serrations at mid crown and disappear towards the tip. This tooth has an excellent blue colored crown ("blue site"), brown root, and a vivid dark maroon "gum line". Excellent color. No repair. Authenticity guaranteed. An exceptional GW transition form!  It will be extremely difficult to locate another large, top quality Carcharodon hubbelli since the few that exist are buried in collections.

The C. hubbelli serrations are full at the base of the cutting edge, transition to fine serrations at mid crown and disappear towards the tip. The crown edge starts with two oversized serrations at the base and quickly transforms into "Escheri-like" wavy serrations. An early stage transition form. No repair. An exceptional tan and blue crown with a large brown bourlette - great eye appeal. High quality enamel - the surface is like glass! The serrations are razor sharp and essentially complete with a good tip serration - rare for a big Meg!
