A Top Quality Carcharodon hastalis, Broad-tooth "Mako", shark tooth - upper jaw anterior tooth from the "De Kuilen" sand pit, Mill, The Netherlands. This is a "Blue" layer tooth which are know for the highest preservation and best color - rarely seen outside of Europe. This tooth has excellent color and preservation. Sharp cutting edge. An ultra rare, Top Quality EXTRA LARGE Edestus heinrichi shark whorl section with 3 big crowns, from Herrin, Illinois. An April Fossil of the Month. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. Excellent preservation and serrations. Note - extra long root whorl section with 3 extra large crowns - very rare. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. Shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These rare teeth are Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. Note - Two crown tips were professionally retored. Authenticity guaranteed. A LARGE, High Quality Great White shark tooth - upper jaw lateral tooth from Western Cape Province, So. Africa. This tooth has a blue colored crown, a large distinct brown gum line, and a brown root. Great color! Highest quality enamel with no hydration cracks. Serrations are large with a damaged tip serration. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. No repair or restoration. A Top Quality Tietea singularis, petrified Tree Fern, trunk slice from the Maranhão Basin, NE Brazil. This tree fern was from the Pedra do Fogo Formation and is Permian age age (265 MYA). Both sides are polished. The interior is highly vascular with unqiue pores and channels that have been silicified into agate. Trunk slice thickness is 3/16" and makes a great display. This piece exhibits exceptional preservation and color. Authenticity guaranteed. An exceptional old collection display piece!
