An EXTRA LARGE, Paraspirifer bownockeri brachiopod from the Silica Shale Fm., Sylvania, Ohio. Brachiopods are bivalve molluscs, and this is a big one. A GEM Quality, rare Triceratops horridus upper beak (rostal) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. A July Fossil of the Month. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for three horns and a large frill protecting its neck. This juvenile upper beak has exceptional detail preserved and great color / patina. Complete specimen. Note - Triceratops has a beak formed by this upper rostal bone and the lower predentary bone. A very rare, early Otodus mugodzharicus upper jaw, lateral tooth from western Kazakhstan. A transition tooth leading to C. auriculatus (see detailed discussion below). The bourlette is large and complete. Exhibits very fine serrations along the lower 2/3 of the crown and weakly serrated side cusps with very irregular serrations. These teeth exhibit very good color, gloss, and preservation. A rare, early Eocene Auriculatus transition tooth. A very challenging tooth to find when building a Megalodon evolutionary set!
