A Top Quality Notorhynchus tooth - a Sevengill Cow shark, from the Rappahanic River, Virginia.  A lower jaw tooth with 7 primary cusps. This tooth has a blue-gray color with a brown root. Incredible color and preservation. This is a Miocene age, Eastover Formation tooth. An excellent collector's tooth. Authenticity guaranteed.

This catalog contains excellent shark teeth from one of the highly sought after Cow sharks, Notorhynchus primigenius, a Sevengill Cow shark. Notorhynchus teeth exhibit wide rectangular root that is topped with a saw-like row of six or more cusps. The Cow shark family is fairly rare and exceptional specimens are hard to locate. These teeth are Miocene - Pliocene age found in Virginia and are among the finest known examples.
