The phosphate mines have exposed a wealth of marine fossils dating from the Cretaceous to Eocene ages (110-35 million years ago). Shark teeth from this location are a creamy white to butterscotch colored and exhibit great preservation. The local people use very crude methods to extract these fossil teeth. Thus, the secret to securing the highest quality teeth is to painstakingly sort through large volumes of material to select the very best fossil shark teeth for you. A very rare, TOP QUALITY Hainosaurus tooth, a Tylosaur mosasaur, from the Cretaceous of Khouribga, Morocco. This mosasaur is a recent discovery and genus naming. The teeth appear to be quite rare. Note - the well defined posterior hook at the top of the crown - a Hainosaurus characteristic. This specimen has a wear facet on the anterior edge of the crown and it has been cracked. This is the most difficult of the Mosasaur species to find. An excellent collector's Mosasaur tooth. Authenticity guaranteed.
