A Top Quality,  LARGE Carcharhinus macloti tooth, the Hardnose shark, from Lee Creek. Upper jaw teeth from the Miocenne Pungo River Formation. Excellent preservation and color. A more difficult species to locate in Lee Creek. Note - item is sold as a single  tooth.

The Carcharhinus macloti is the Hardnose shark and is found in the western Atlantic during the Miocene, but today in the Indo-Pacific, from Kenya to southern China and northern Australia. It inhabits warm, shallow waters close to shore. This species can reach lengths of less than 4 feet. The Hardnose shark has a diet of fish, cephalopods, and crabs. They are harmless to humans.
