Trichiurides sagittidens (Bony fish)

Trichiurides sagittidens is a bony fish belonging to the Trichiurids. They had long compressed bodies with dagger like teeth, Trichiurides teeth have a characteristic "barb-like" triangle at the tip which they used to feed on fish and squid. Trichiurides inhabited tropical and warm temperate seas and are usually found at shallow tp moderate depths. 

This collection represents a rare and very unusual collection of Miocene fossil shark teeth from the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. Few collectors have these teeth and even fewer have had the opportunity to collect this site as I did!
