The March 2015 Week #2-1 "Fossil Shark Tooth of the Month" offering is a GEM creamy white Summerville Carcharocles chubutensis, the C. megalodon tooth predecessor - upper jaw Principal Anterior tooth. It has an incredible creamy white colored crown with an exceptional white bourlette. The enamel is the highest possible quality with no hydration cracks. The bourlette is fantastic and essentially complete. No enamel peel. The serrations are razor sharp and 100% complete with an excellent tip serration. The root is an excellent white color, wide, and complete. This early Megalodon was found in a Summerville, SC land site (early to middle Miocene age = 15 MYA). Note the crown exhibits large cusplike bumps at the base of the serrated edge. A characteristic trait of the C. chubutensis.
