A fantastic, best quality, Mammuthus primigenius, Woolly Mammoth tusk from Siberia. A January Fossil of the Month. This tusk is a manageable size at 44” straight line measurement (56" on the curve / 40" minimum display length as shown). This is the highest grade tusk available with no imperfections, no fill, best colors, perfectly preserved, and perfectly sealed. Both ends are completely intact and complete. It is a tusk of a younger mammoth which lived in the late Pleistocene Ice Age some 30,000 plus years ago. This is a complete tusk with rich colors of natural browns, blues, light tan, and charcoal grays which has been properly dried and sealed. The enamel shows exceptional detail.  No repair or restoration. No worries about stability of this tusk. The tusk makes a wonderful display for home or office and comes with a heavy Popular hardwood stand painted jet black as shown. The Woolly Mammoth is an extinct species of mammoth that lived during the Ice Age. The woolly mammoth was similar in size to the modern African Elephant. Male Woolly Mammoth could approach 7000 lbs while the female would approach 5000 lbs. in weight. The Woolly Mammoth are known for their large curved tusks. Their tusks were used for manipulating objects, fighting, and foraging.
