This is an extinct elephant ancestor that inhabited North America during the late Miocene to late Pliocene. This molar is big with 3 cusp rows with essentially no cusp wear. So, this is a recently erupted or unerupted tooth. Exceptional articulation. Excellent light tan & brown colors! This is an exceptionally well fossilized Mastodon specimen.
