A rare, GEM Quality juvenile Miocene-Pliocene Mastodon molar from Florida. A February Fossil of the Month. This is an extinct elephant ancestor that inhabited North America during the late Miocene to late Pliocene. This molar has 3 cusp rows with no cusp wear. So, this is an unerupted tooth. Exceptional articulation. Fantastic red color! This is an exceptionally well fossilized Mastodon specimen. Note - Comes complete with custom stand as pictured. No damage. No restoration or repair.
