Colorful Jurassic "gem" dinosaur bone from the Morrison Fm., Moffat Co., Colorado. Silica (agate) replaced sauropod dinosaur limb or vertebra bone. The bone pore structure is well perserved and gives the bone a wonderful natural "textured" look with different colorization. Colors include reds, orange, gold, blue, cream, charcoal, etc. Late Jurassic age (155 MYA). Excellent preservation and preparation. All natural with one highly polished face. The Phareodus was a carnivorous fish with large pointed teeth and a long pectoral fin. This piece is from the 18 Inch Layer which is extremely hard and difficult to prepare. The Diplomystus dentatus is a Herring fish from the Eocene age (50 MYA) in the ancient Lake Gosiute deposit. These fossil fish are nicely preserved fossils.
