Excellent color. This is a late Miocene age tooth (6-8 MYA). Please note that there is an ~1/4" wedge restored on inside of the left root end. A desert shark from the deserts of Peru!     The PERFECT, very rare Parotodus benedeni tooth. An April 2019 Fossil of the Month. Lateral tooth. The crown has extremely sharp cutting edges. Exceptional light tan & blue color and preservation. An incredible wide bourlette. The root is ~5/8" thick and shows few small hydration cracks! Note- grooves on the sides of the root lobes - a Miocene tooth trait. One of the finest LC lateral Parotodus teeth that I have seen. This incredible Parotodus was found in the Pungo River Formation (Miocene age). No repair or restoration. A very special, rare collector's tooth. Authenticity guaranteed.

Great preservation and condition - extra sharp edges and needle-like tip - very clean & very rare. The root shows very nice detail and is complete and extra large with a little surface pitting.
