An EXTRA LARGE TOP QUALITY, Metasequoia dakotensis cone from Montana. These "dinosaur age" pine cones are found in the Hell Creek Formation of Dawson Co., Montana. These Upper Cretaceous pine cones are high quality with great preservation.They are fully inflated spheres and maximun size (redwoods produce very small cones for their size!). An excellent, rare unidentified Dicotaledon fruit / seed pod specimen from Morocco. The Moroccan "pine cone". Found in the late Eocene sediments in Western Sahara, Morocco. Excellent detail preserved. Note that the interior of the cone is replaced by agate.
