These Upper Cretaceous pine cones are high quality with great preservation. They are fully inflated spheres and maximun size (redwoods produce very small cones for their size!). An EXTRA LARGE, pyrite replaced Paraspirifer bownockeri brachiopod from the Silica Shale Fm., Sylvania, Ohio. Brachiopods are bivalve molluscs, and this is a big one. Both valves present  - complete specimen and matrix free. Note -  1-1/8" thick and heavy! This is a Devonian (395 mya) brachiopod. The big Silica Fm. brachiopod. A rare fossil crab from Sumatra, Indonesia. This crab was deposited in the Telisa formation - a shallow marine environment during the middle Miocene (approx. 15 million years ago.) A very unique collector's fossil. D201 is the high quality crab. Largest one found. Authenticity guaranteed.
