Great examples teeth of an extinct Plesiosaur, Zarafasaura oceanis, a large late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian) marine reptile from the phosphate region of Morocco. Sharks had to fear these creatures! This species has an unusually long neck and Zarafasaurus literally means "giraffe lizard" in ArabicC. Found in the phosphate region (Oulad Abdoun Basin), Khouribga, Morocco. Note - This species was previously recognized as Plesiosaurus mauritanicus (Arambourg 1952) which is now regarded as a nomem dubium. Zarafasaura oceanis was named in 2011.
