A RARE, Troodon formosus tooth from the Judith River Fm. of western North America. Anterior tooth. Troodontid teeth are known for their very unique shaped teeth with unusually large distal serrations. The enamel is excellent with a good brown color.  Excellent large posterior and weak anterior serrations. Please note that Judith River Fm. Troodon teeth typically have anterior serrations. There is damage to the tip. No repair or restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Judith River Fm., Hill Co., Montana. Authenticity guaranteed. This is your chance to own a rare, quality Troodon tooth. Not a perfect tooth.  Note - A gem jar will be included as photographed.

Troodontids are a small, bird-like dinosaur that lived in western N. America during the late Cretaceous Period. There is one named species from the Judith River Fm. of Montana - Troodon formosus. In recently recents, the North American Troodontid has been lump into two new genera - Stenonychosaurus and Latenivenatrix mcmasterae (van der Reest & Currie, 2017). Troodontids are know for a large brain, large eyes, and a very unique shaped tooth. The Hell Creek Fm. Troodontid has not been described, but it shares the same very unique tooth as all Troodontids do.
