This early dog is from the La Tene period (Younger Iron Time) and is 2300 years old during the Roman Period. Dogs were domesticated from the wolves by man for hunting & protection. An extinct early 3-Toed horse jaw (Mesohippus) from Sioux Co., Nebraska. Mesohippus was one of many mammals that thrived in the Early Oligocene in North America. Found in the Brule Fm.
