A Top Quality Ankylosaur osteoderm (bony armor plate) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Ankylosaurus and Denversaurus, a Nodosaur, were the two Ankylosaurs present in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek Formations.  A body osteoderm section from a juvenile Ankylosaur. Pachychephalosaurus is the dinosaur which is famous for its large domed head surrounded by spikes. This ungual has excellent color and patina. Complete and well preserved with slight tip wear. Overall an excellent pes ungual. Note - this ungual has the Pachy twist (see Pachy ungual differentiation discussion below). No repair or restoration. An ultra rare Pachy pes ungual! These spikes and nodes were part of the skull. This spike has excellent color / patina.
