A very rare, LARGE, Top Quality Edestus heinrichi shark tooth, from Herrin, Illinois. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. Note - this tooth has a lot of pyrite and the tip is naturally rounded (polished)  which thought to be due to the vertical whipping motion used to slice prey.  Excellent preservation, serrations, and serration detail. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion or a vertical whipping motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. Shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These rare teeth are Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed.

A TOP QUALITY, EXTRA LARGE & very rare Archaeocete whale, Zygorhiza kochii. Our November Fossil of the Month is a highly desirable Zygorhiza molar or "yoke" tooth.  An exceptional light brown colored crown and tan root. Nicely articulated. Complete root. This tooth has minimal repair to 2nd & 4th cusp on the left side and a small amount to the 4th cusp on the right side. Very little repair overall for a yoke tooth which are typically heavily repaired.  The BEST Archaeocete molar that I have seen from So. Carolina in a long time. A very rare collector's tooth. A rare, High Quality Alopias grandis shark tooth, the extinct Giant Thresher, from Milnerton Beach, Cape Town, South Africa. Nice blue color. Very good preservation and condition with a small root chip. A Late Mocene age tooth (Alexandria Fm). No repair or restoration. These teeth are not commonly found and seen. A rare, Otodus sokolovi tooth from the desert of Fayum Depression, Birket-le-Qurun, Egypt. Very good condition and preservation. No repair or restoration. Complete tooth with some root pitting. This tooth was found in the Qsar-el-Sagha Fm., and is late Eocene age (38-42 MYA). Authenticity guaranteed. I have never seen an Otodus sokolovi tooth from Egypt. A rare collectors teeth.
