A rare GEM QUALITY Basilosaurus cetoides, an Archaeocete whale tooth found in the Flint River, Georgia. An exceptional molar. An April Fossil of the Month. An excellent green colored crown and tan root. Nicely articulated. Incredible preservation!  Whales do not shed their teeth like the sharks so there teeth will wear with age. An Eocene age tooth (36 MYA) from the Ocala Limestone Fm.  No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed. A great Archaeocete tooth from the Flint River, Georgia from an old collection. A Top Quality, Carcharodon hastalis,  Mako shark tooth (upper anterior jaw tooth) from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2". This tooth has a rich  blue crown and a tan colored root. Excellent colors!  Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. It is a Miocene tooth from the Pungo River Fm. An excellent collector's tooth. Authenticity guaranteed. A perfect "Pungo" hastalis tooth.
