A rare, Alopias grandis shark tooth, the extinct Giant Thresher, from Calvert Cliffs, Maryland. A posterior tooth. Nice tan color. The Phareodus was a carnivorous fish with large pointed teeth and a long pectoral fin. This piece is from the Split Fish Layer and shows fantastic detail. Excellent preservation and preparation.
