A Metasequoia occidentalis (Dawn Redwood) branch from Beaverhead Co., Montana. The Metasequoia  evloved in late late Cretaceous and survived the end of the Mesozoic extinctions. A LARGE Aulophyseter, sperm whale, ear bone (Tympanic bulla) from the Sharktooth Hill area, near Bakersfield, California. Excellent preservation and gorgeous color. An ultra rare, Top Quality Classic Red Site Otodus megalodon from the Meherrin River, North Carolina. This Meg is an excellent upper jaw anterior tooth. NC002 has a rich copper-red color. The enamel is the high quality with good gloss. The serrations are large with a worn tip serration. Bourlette is black and composed of the dentin layer. The root is complete and nicely articulated. Note - you rarely see a copper red colored Megalodon tooth that has a top quality crown and serrations and a complete root - a top tooth from this site! NO repair or restoration. A LARGE ultra rare, Top Quality Red Site Otodus megalodon tooth from the Meherrin River, North Carolina. This Megalodon is an upper jaw anterior tooth from the Meherrin River copper-red site. Excellent copper color. The enamel is the highest quality. The serrations are extra large and razor sharp. Note - The cutting edge also has multiple enamel waves - very cool - see photo. Bourlette is lighter brown and 80% complete. The root is extra wide & complete with large grooves on the root lobes. This is defintely a Miocene Meg tooth. Note - the tip only was restored.
