A LARGE, Top Quality Hexanchus griseus tooth from the Caldera Basin of Chile. Fantastic blue color with a red root. This is complete lower jaw tooth from a large shark. Superb preservation and color. A LARGE Top Quality, Carcharodon hastalis,  Mako shark tooth (upper anterior jaw tooth) from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2". A LARGE, Top Quality Carcharodon hastalis, Broad-tooth Mako, shark tooth - upper jaw anterior tooth from the Bahia Iglesa Fm. of Chile. This tooth has a light blue crown and a tan root.
