A TOP QUALITY, ~6" Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth - ANTERIOR tooth. Our June 2017 Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon has an incredible golden tan colored crown with an exceptional mahogany brown bourlette - essentially complete with two toned color. Highest quality enamel. Exceptional golden tan enamel! The bourlette is extra large and near perfect. The serrations are razor sharp with an exceptional tip serration. Nearly PERFECT serrations (a few serrations damaged near the base  - all serrations are razor sharp. Exceptional serrations for a really big Meg! The root is an excellent tan color with very few no hydration cracks and complete. This Megalodon was found in the Yorktown Formation, Lee Creek mine, NC (Pliocene age = 4.5 MYA). The finest example of a 6" classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth that I have seen considering the shape, color, and preservation. An ultra rare, LARGE, Top Quality Edestus heinrichi partial tooth whorl, from Herrin, Illinois. A July Fossil of the Month. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. An ultra rare triple crown whorl section with exceptional quality crowns. Excellent preservation, serrations, and serration detail. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion or a vertical whipping motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. Shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These rare teeth are Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. A Thescelosaurus neglectus toe bone section from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. Thescelosaurus is a mid-sized dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation. No repair or restoration. An ultra rare, Top Quality Parotodus benedeni tooth from the Ica region of Peru. A July Fossil of the Month. Highest quality enamel. An excellent tan colored crown with clean edges. Excellent color. This is a late Miocene age tooth (6-8 MYA). Please note that there is an ~1/4" wedge restored on inside of the left root end. A desert shark from the deserts of Peru! A rare, EXTRA LARGE, Top Quality Columian Mammoth tooth (Mammuthus columbi), an early elephant molar found in Somervell Co., Texas.  Mammoths were present in this area during the Late Pleistocene Ice Age. A fantastic, GEM Quality, Mammuthus primigenius, Woolly Mammoth tusk from southwestern Siberia. An April Fossil of the Month. This tusk is a manageable size at 42” straight line measurement tip to end or 65" on the outer curve. This is the highest grade tusk available with no imperfections, no fill, best colors, perfectly preserved, and perfectly sealed. Both ends are completely intact and complete. It is a tusk of a teenage Bull mammoth which lived in the late Pleistocene Ice Age some 30,000 plus years ago. The large tusk diameter and weight indicate that this was a Bull mammoth. This is a complete tusk with rich colors of natural browns, blues, light tan, and charcoal grays which has been properly dried and sealed. The enamel shows exceptional detail.  No repair or restoration.
