An ultra rare, GEM Quality Torvosaurus tanneri tooth from the Morrison Formation. A September Fossil of the Month. This completeTorvosaurus crown measures 1-516". The enamel is highest quality. Excellent rich green -brown color. Exceptional posterior and anterior serrations. Note - the anterior carina end about 1/2 of the way down from the tip. The diagnostic for a Torvosaurus tooth. Fantastic overall enamel condition and serrations. No repair or restoration. Torvosaurus was a large predator during the late Jurassic with large teeth designed to slash predators. An EXTRA LARGE pyrite replaced Paraspirifer bownockeri brachiopod from the Silica Shale Fm., Sylvania, Ohio. Both valves present  - complete specimen and matrix free. More than 1-1/4"+ thick and heavy! This is a Devonian (395 mya) brachiopod. The big Silica Fm. brachiopod. A fantastic display specimen!

A rare Myliobatis barb section from Sumatra, Indonesia. This ray barb was deposited in the Telisa formation - a shallow marine environment during the middle Miocene (approx. 15 million years ago.) A very unique collector's fossil. A very rare, early Otodus obliquus anterior tooth from Kzil-Orda Region, Kazakhstan. Otodus obliquus is the ancestor to O. auriculatus (see detailed discussion below) which leads to Megalodon. The bourlette is large and complete. Exhibits no serrations. The starting species to serrated Otodus teeth. These teeth exhibit very good color, gloss, and preservation. A rare, early Eocene (Ypresian) Auriculatus transition tooth.
