An EXTRA LARGE, High Quality Carcharocles megalodon from offshore Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. This Meg is a big upper jaw anterior tooth The enamel is good quality. Bourlette is a dark brown color, extra large and mostly dentin later. The root is complete. No repair or restoration. This ammonite species exhibits big ribs with large tubercles (nodes). Both ammonites are nicely displayed on their original Pierre Shale matrix with a flat base. Matrix size is 4.5" x 2.5".
