A Huge, HIGH QUALITY copper red colored Angustidens - upper jaw lateral tooth from the Meherrin River, No. Carolina. Incredible light copper red & green colors! This tooth was not exposed to the river too long so it is a mix of copper red and green. No enamel peel. The serrations are sharp including the tip. One very nice, extra large side cusp. Alethopteris is an extinct genus of primitive seed fern that evolved during the Pennsylvanian Period. This specimen is well preserved with white colored ferns on a near black colored shale matrix.
